Water Matters. Water Resources Teacher's Guide, Vol. 1.
Kauffman, Sue Cox
This teachers guide is designed to accompany a series of posters developed through the U.S. Geological Survey's Water Resources Education Initiative, a cooperative effort between public and private education interests. It provides teacher guidance, background information, suggestions for a variety of classroom activities, and supplemental resource lists, and offers a systematic framework for including water resources education into existing curricula and for applying this curriculum to emerging national standards. The posters treated in this volume include: (1) "Water: The Resource That Gets Used & Used & Used for Everything"; (2) "How Do We Treat Our Wastewater?"; and (3) "Wetlands: Water, Wildlife, Plants & People". Although designed for grades 3 to 8, these posters can complement water topics in any grade. (JRH)
