Ten Steps to a More Productive Choral Rehearsal

In this article, the author provides ten strategies to help make choral rehearsals more productive. The strategies, that are described in detail in this article, include: (1) Start on time; (2) Make taking attendance the students' responsibility; (3) Take time to warm up; (4) Include sight-singing; (5) Post the order of music before each rehearsal; (6) Make sure students have pencils; (7) Say as much as you can using as few words as possible; (8) Keep students singing; (9) Plan well for the rehearsal; and (10) Make the rehearsal fun.
