Fake "Returnee" Earns 4 Million through Fraudulent Marriages: More than Ten Women Fall for His Claims of Being a Boss and Possessing a House and Car
Chinese Education and Society, v38 n3 p75-76 May-Jun 2005
This article discusses the case of Wang Ruiliang. Ms. Huang filed a case against Wang Jun, alleging that he had defrauded her. Ms. Huang met a man named Wang Jun in April 2002 through a certain matrimonial agency. Before they had been together for very long, Wang Jun asked to borrow money from Ms. Huang, claiming that he was having difficulties in his business and needed some money to cover expenses. Ms. Huang gave him 130,000 yuan in cash, after which Wang disappeared. Forty-one-year-old Ms. Sun is another victim of Wang Ruiliang. In June 2002, she became acquainted with Wang Jun, through a matrimonial agency. Investigations revealed that Wang's true name was Wang Ruiliang, that he was forty-one, unemployed, a senior middle school graduate, and that his home was in the Hexi District of Tianjin City. Wang Ruiliang has defrauded ten or more women out of a total of more than 4 million yuan. To this day, many of the victims are unwilling, for certain reasons, to file complaints in this matter.
