Today, the spirit of volunteering is very much alive at every tribal college and university (TCU). From fundraisers for food pantries to educational activities that help fellow students, TCUs help forge reciprocity among students and staff. Volunteerism is integral to the tribal college experience. Volunteerism at three tribal colleges--Cankdeska Cikana Community College (North Dakota), Chief Dull Knife College (Montana), Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College (Michigan)--is examined. The volunteer work of a student at Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas is also described.
