Legacy of Leadership: Profiles of the Presidents of the American Association of Community Colleges, 1958-2010
Luskin, Bernard J., Ed.
American Association of Community Colleges (NJ3)
More than 50 years ago, two men on a train made a stop at W.K. Kellogg Foundation, to share their vision for community colleges. Thus began a partnership that has advanced the community college mission by supporting the visionary leaders at the helm of American Association of Community Colleges from 1958 to 2010. In April 2011, W.K. Kellogg and AACC commemorated its long collaboration--and honored the four men who guided AACC and community colleges through half a century--with the publication of "Legacy of Leadership: Profiles of the Presidents of the American Association of Community Colleges, 1958-2010". Drawing primarily from interviews and personal communications with the presidents themselves, this book concentrates on the special role AACC and its leaders played in the dramatic creation and expansion of a new option in higher education.
