This art education resource, designed for use in the Snite Museum of Art, may also be used with slides or reproductions. Black and white reproductions are included for each of the art works represented, along with title, artist, date, and media information. This three part gallery guide presents a brief synopsis of the stories narrated in the specific artworks. Highlighted text questions invite an examination of the art work for story clues and interpretation. Stories/artworks included in Part 1--Atriuum and Knott-Beckman Gallery, 1500-1700 AD, First Floor are: "Nydia, the Blind Girl of Pompeii" (Randolph Rogers); "The Expulsion of Hagar" (Ciro Ferri); "Judah and Tamar" (Giacinto Brandi); "Mercury Lulling Arus to Sleep" (Pieter Mulier the Younger); "Bathsheba" (Willem van Mieris); and "The Daughters of Cecrops Discover the Infant Erichtonius" (Gerald de Lairesse the Elder).
