Governor's Task Force on School Violence and Vandalism: Report and Recommendations.
Governor's Task Force on School Violence and Vandalism, MI.
The governor of Michigan charged the Task Force on School Violence and Vandalism with the responsibility of developing recommendations designed to reduce school violence and vandalism. The Task Force was divided into five subcommittees: (1) Student Concerns, (2) Educational Personnel Concerns, (3) Law Enforcement and School Security Concerns, (4) Family Concerns, and (5) Social and Community Organization Concerns. This booklet contains the introductory statements and recommendations drafted by each subcommittee. Information was gathered for this report from task force members, public hearings, literature reviews, expert testimony, reviews of violence/vandalism prevention programs, interviews with school and youth agency personnel, and a preliminary investigation of the degree and severity of violence and vandalism in Michigan schools.
