This entire issue of the "Science" journal is devoted to the topic of energy and issues relating to the energy crisis. Its content was chosen to present material relevant to important public decisions of the next few years. Twenty-six articles cover a wide range of topics, including the impact of the energy crisis on people and institutions, state and Federal policies, economics, the developed technologies relating to oil, coal, gas, and uranium, and the developing technology for utilizing geothermal and solar energy. Certain topics relevant to the subject matter of this issue of "Science" were omitted because they had already been treated in recent issues of the journal. These articles, together with their dates of publication, are listed in a Bibliography of Energy. (JR)
