Embracing Both a Constructivist Counseling Approach and a Specific Religious Tradition: Is It a Leap of Faith?
Watts, Richard E.
Counseling and Values, v56 n1-2 p3-9 Oct 2011
Given that constructivist approaches to counseling and religious faith traditions have divergent views regarding the understanding and perception of reality, the question arises, "Can a counselor embrace both a constructivist counseling approach and a particular religious tradition?" Using a diversity within unity perspective, the author argues that embracing both a constructivist counseling approach and a particular religious tradition does not require the leap of faith that one might initially believe.
