Education Policies of Turkish Political Parties and Their Possible Effects on Economic Development

This study examines the educational policies of Turkish political parties and their possible effects on economic development. Document analysis method was used to investigate the principles of education policies under various party programs--namely, the Great Union Party, the Independent Turkey Party, the Justice and Development Party, the Motherland Party, the Young Party, the New Turkey Party, the Republican People's Party, the Workers' Party, and the Turkey Communist Party. The findings show that equality of opportunity is the common issue in the education policies of the parties. That equality of opportunity is included in the policies of all parties shall ensure that all individuals benefit from the existing education opportunities and that current human resources are utilized at the maximum level, from the point of either the private sector or the public. In other words, ensuring the equality in utilization from the education opportunities by the human factor, which is the center point in progress, refers to maximum benefit from the current education opportunities.
