Cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces can reduce the transmissibility of potential pathogens on school surfaces. Determining the number of bacteria and investigating the presence of pathogens on school surfaces are beginning steps in managing the well-being of students contacting those surfaces. This research study examines the pervasiveness of bacterial disease-causing agents on inanimate objects most accessible to students in a state school. The research showed that 41% of the school surfaces tested positive for the presence of pathogens "Staphylococcus aureus" and "Pseudomonas aeruginosa." Independent t-tests revealed a statistically significant finding for the efficacy of the treatment of surfaces with two percent bleach.
