Implementation, or treatment fidelity, is the link between evidence-based interventions and changes in student outcomes. Although higher levels of implementation are generally associated with more efficient improvements in student outcomes, research indicates that many adults struggle to consistently implement student interventions. As school problem-solving teams work to support students in multi-tiered systems of support, they may consider evaluating and promoting treatment fidelity. This article provides an introduction to treatment fidelity and performance feedback, an evidence-based strategy to promote implementation. Further, the steps to incorporate treatment fidelity assessment, evaluation, and promotion are described. (Contains 5 figures.)
