An international inventory was made to determine the composition of television programs, particularly from the point of view of program material exported to a country outside. A survey was also made of the international networks for sales and exchanges of program material for broadcast. A report of these studies includes the scope and methods of the studies, a discussion of the structure of TV programing, and a description of the international flow of TV programs. A second part analyzes and discusses the international flow of TV material. Several papers presented at a symposium held at Tampere, Finland, are presented, along with a summary and discussion. Among the studies' conclusions are that television traffic is a one-way street. (WCM/JY)
