Junior high school presents a significant increase in time demands both for study and for social relationships. The students (N = 240) in grades 7 and 8 at a junior high school anonymously completed online the Time Management Poll concerning their own use of time and the way their school managed time. The 20 items in the poll allowed them to identify difficulties they had in setting priorities, obstacles with scheduling, and ways schools and families could support a better balance of activities. Findings of the Time Management Poll suggest that schools and students should collaborate to improve the ways they schedule time. Findings are discussed with implications and recommendations for how adolescents and schools can become more effective in making decisions about the use of time.
