Author! Author! Seymour Simon: Science Writer Extraordinaire
Brodie, Carolyn S.
School Library Media Activities Monthly, v22 n2 p49-52 Oct 2005
This column presents a brief biography of author Seymour Simon, whose topics for children's photo essays include icebergs, gorillas, thunderstorms, optical illusions, snakes, air, water, planets, airplanes, volcanoes, cars, the brain, bridges, bugs, crocodiles, skyscrapers, sharks, and paper airplanes. Though he is best known in the style and an array of incredible photographs, he has also written both fiction and reference books. In fact, more than half of these have been named as outstanding Science Trade Books for Children by the National Science Teachers Association. A selected bibliography, as well as a list of suggested related classroom activities is also provided.
