In the first section of this report, summaries are presented of the papers delivered at the General Session of the meeting of the Southwest Park and Recreation Training Institute. The topics were: (1) Risk Aspect of Parks and Recreation; (2) All You Need To Know about Boards and Commissions, but Were Afraid To Ask; (3) Leadership and Organizational Structure; and (4) Murphy's Law of Thermodynamics and Other Rules for Dealing with the Real World. The rest of the report is comprised of 18 summaries of workshop topics that dealt with practical advice, anecdotes of the various problems faced by recreational directors, and suggestions for improving the appearance of parks and recreation areas.
