This manual is the second part of a two-volume teacher's guide to a series of instructional units for use in health occupations education programs in Texas. Covered in the 10 units included in this volume are the following topics: special procedures (administering oxygen to patients; using elastic bandages; assisting with postural drainage; and assisting with hot and cold treatments, therapeutic exercise, and physical restraint of patients), assisting with diagnostic procedures (collecting specimens and positioning and draping patients for medical examinations), transporting patients, charting, medical laboratory procedures, standard first aid treatment, metrics for health occupations, human relations, safety, and anatomy and physiology. Each unit contains most or all of the following: objectives, suggested activities, information sheets, transparency masters, job sheets, assignment sheets, a unit test, and answers to the unit test.
