A Meta-Analytic Review of the Theories of Reasoned Action and Planned Behavior in Physical Activity: Predictive Validity and the Contribution of Additional Variables.
Hagger, Martin S.; Chatzisarantis, Nikos L. D.; Biddle, Stuart J. H.
Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology, v24 n1 p3-32 2002
Examined relations between behavior, intentions, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, self-efficacy, and past behaviors using the Theories of Reasoned Action (TRA) and Planned Behavior (TPB) in physical activity. This quantitative integration of the physical activity literature supported the major relationships of the TRA/TPB. The inclusion of self-efficacy and past behavior were important additions to the model. (Contains references.) (SM)
