Form and Function of Educational Technology in Developmental Curricula in a Community College

This qualitative action research study examines the form (where and how) and function (specific use) of Educational Technology in developmental curricula at a community college. The study uses theoretical frameworks of Educational Technology and Instructional Systems Design to review and analyze curricular materials (print and electronic) and instruction as described in faculty interviews. By describing where, how and why technology is employed in developmental-level community college classes this study contributes to bodies of knowledge related to Educational Technology and developmental education and may help inform effective practice in curriculum design, technology integration, faculty development, teaching, and learning.
