Surveys of 758 German information-communications technology (ICT) companies and 1,100 trainees reveal that young women are moving away from ICT occupations and obtain fewer apprenticeships; only 50% who had ICT training found related jobs. Contributors to ICT gender segregation include women's motivation and orientation, organizational and training cultures, and cultural and symbiotic impact of occupational images.
