This report describes the clearinghouse activities of the Non-Formal Education (NFE) Information Center from September 1981 through August 1982 and details efforts to strengthen the capacity of selected NFE resource centers in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It first addresses the decision to extend the NFE Network Project, and then turns to the continued operation of a clearinghouse for user-oriented information and knowledge-building related to nonformal education and development. A summary of activities related to evaluation of the Center's work is included. A discussion of the center's work in providing technical assistance towards creating national/regional NFE information centers in developing areas focuses on Michigan State University's (MSU) assistance to NFE/WID resource centers in Colombia, the Ivory Coast, and the Philippines, and describes each center's program in relation to its formal collaborative agreements with MSU. Observations and recommendations are followed by appendices containing an NFE Center visitor list, information regarding the publication of The NFE Exchange, illustrative letters concerning financial support for The NFE Exchange, and Activity Agreements Nos. 5-8 with the Institut Africain pour le Developpement Economique et Social-Documentation.
