Track and field activities involve the basic skills of running, jumping, and throwing. With the exception of the relays, all of the events are individual and self-testing in nature, and demand ample opportunity for practice. Track and field is often considered a team sport, since the individuals involved belong to a team and their wins are recorded for a team.
