Stover, Del
Education Digest: Essential Readings Condensed for Quick Review, v72 n6 p57-60 Feb 2007
In the last few years, a number of states, education associations, and universities have launched new programs to build up the cadre of school turnaround specialists. These programs are often modeled on the experiences of consultants in the corporate world. This article discusses the advantages of using turnaround specialists and describes the varying tactics used by several turnaround programs. A common theme in all programs is the importance of a serious commitment on the part of administrators.
