Management of Student Aid: A Guide for Presidents.
El-Khawas, Elaine
A guide offering a quick review of principles, decisions, and responsibilities in financial aid management has been developed to aid presidents, trustees, and senior administrators of colleges and universities. The handbook stresses the possible implications of aid for enrollment, financial stability, and institutional mission. Topics that are addressed concern: size and significance of student aid, policy planning, use of federal aid, use of institutional funds, management responsibilities, student loans, and legal and regulatory obligations. The effects of federal regulation, the impact of aid on institutional finances and on institutional programs, providing information to students, recordkeeping, cash management, loan collection, proper auditing, and major programs for student financial assistance are covered. The guide is a companion piece to a detailed manual, "Management of Student Aid." (SW)
