Results of the Questionnaire on Computerization Development.
Association of London Chief Librarians (England).
A survey of 22 London libraries was conducted to determine the characteristics and extent of library automation in the area; the results of this survey are presented in a series of tables. Questions are grouped by general topics--computer facilities, cataloging, circulation control, staffing, and objectives--and each set of tables is introduced by a short summary of general trends. Responses to individual questions within these groups provide information on the limitations of computer facilities, development priority, bureau services, and servicing contracts; which cataloging routines are computerized, the type of equipment and other resources used in automating the catalog, cataloging output, the frequency and form of the catalog, and management information provided; specific circulation routines that are automated, type of equipment, overdues, membership files, conversion of library stocks, and management information. A copy of the survey instrument is not included. (SW)
