This article highlights strategies used at various Kentucky universities to recruit, retain, and mentor minority educators. Recruitment strategies include making staff diversity an institutional priority, involving enrolled minority students in recruiting others, and establishing a separate budget for minority candidate recruitment. Retention strategies include orientation, faculty development, and provision of tenure and promotion. Mentoring programs are recommended for all new minority educators. (Author/KB)
