Behavioral problems are the most common mental health problem in children and adolescents worldwide. For several decades there has been a growing body of scientific knowledge of the factors influencing the development of antisocial behavior. There are several intervention and prevention programs, the most effective of which activate parents, teachers, child care workers and educators in favor of the child. This book compiles articles on several such innovative ideas and programs. Most of the articles were written for the congress entitled "Prevention of Antisocial Behavior--Starting at (Pre-)Conception? Tendencies in Care and Family Support," organized by the Department of Development and Personality Psychology of the University of Ghent, in collaboration with the VBJK, a resource and training center for child care.
