Early Childhood Programs That Work for Children from Economically Disadvantaged Families.
Campbell, Frances A.; Taylor, Karen
Young Children, v51 n4 p74-80 May 1996
Surveyed how children or parents derived benefits from early childhood intervention programs for low-income families. Found that such programs provide appropriate and stimulating learning environments for young children and support the roles of parents. Participants have higher academic achievement and parents made positive changes in their own education and employment levels. Also found reductions in child abuse and neglect. (MOK)
