Student Withdrawals and Delayed Work Patterns in Self-Paced Psychology Classes.

Studies which examine student withdrawals and procrastination in self-paced (SP) psychology courses indicate that: (1) withdrawal is correlated with inferior academic performance, (2) early performance appears to be predictive of later performance, (3) and SP instruction produces better performance for students with weak academic records. It is suggested that educators identify and train SP students in time-work relationships. (KC)
