The Portrayal of Child Sexual Assault in Introductory Psychology Textbooks.
Letourneau, Elizabeth J.; Lewis, Tonya C.
Teaching of Psychology, v26 n4 p253-58 Aut 1999
Examines the manner in which introductory psychology textbooks present issues about child sexual assault. Finds that four texts made no mention of any child sexual assault issues and of the remaining textbooks, the majority of the information concerning child sexual assault dealt with memory issues. Identifies five overgeneralizations in relation to memory issues. (CMK)
