Ease of Grading and Enrollment in Secondary School Science, II. A Test of the Model
Bridgham, Robert
Journal of Research in Science Teaching, 9, 4, 331-343, 72
Proposes a model that implies that enrollments in science classes will increase if the grade penalty in science subjects is less severe. Students' decisions are based on rough comparisons between their grades in other subjects and early science courses. Student records from 27 schools were analyzed for correlations between many variables. Results confirm some aspects of the model. (PS)
