Investigates preservice teachers' perceptions of the impact of non-field experiences in shaping their vision of mathematics teaching. Describes a study in which preservice teachers were engaged in a number of technology-based activities and asked to complete questionnaires prior to and after the activities. Teachers associated the lack of a required field experience with a lack of opportunity. Contains 16 references. (Author/ASK)
