Promoting a Qualitative Understanding of Physics.
Alessi, Stephen M.; Pena, Carmen M.
Journal of Computers in Mathematics and Science Teaching, v18 n4 p439-57 1999
Investigates the effects of two instructional strategies--augmented activation activities vs. expository instruction--and three different presentation formats--microcomputer-based laboratory (MBL), simulation, and computer-based text--on individuals' ability to understand concepts in physics. Indicates significant main effect for presentation format and that both MBL and simulation presentation formats were more effective than computer-based text. (Contains 21 references.) (Author/ASK)
