Differential Effects on the Achievement of Males and Females of Teaching the Particulate Nature of Chemistry.
Bunce, Diane M.; Gabel, Dorothy
Journal of Research in Science Teaching, v39 n10 p911-27 Dec 2002
Explores the effects of teaching particulate representation of chemistry on the achievement of high school students in terms of gender interaction. Indicates that females who were taught the particulate representation scored as well as males whereas those who were not taught the particulate representation scored significantly lower than males. Teaching males the particulate representation did not significantly affect their achievement. (Author/KHR)
