Exercise in Inquiry: Critical Thinking in an Inquiry-Based Exercise Physiology Laboratory Course.
DiPasquale, Dana M.; Mason, Cheryl L.; Kolkhorst, Fred W.
Journal of College Science Teaching, v32 n6 p388-93 Mar-Apr 2003
Describes an inquiry-based teaching method implemented in an undergraduate exercise physiology laboratory course. Indicates students' strong, positive feelings about the inquiry-based teaching method and shows that inquiry-based learning results in a higher order of learning not typically observed in traditional style classes. This teaching method provides students with the skills to be independent problem solvers and critical thinkers. (Author/KHR)
