Junior College Directory, 1967. Period Covering September 1965-August 1966 and Fall Enrollments for 1966.
Harper, William A., Ed.
Based on a survey conducted by the American Association of Junior Colleges (AAJC), this directory provides information on 837 non-profit, public and private two-year colleges in the United States and its territories, including statistics on 1965-66 enrollments, personnel, and student costs. Following material on the scope and compilation of the directory, an analysis of two-year college growth from 1961 to 1966 is presented. Next, the directory lists the colleges alphabetically by state, including the following information for each: location; chief administrative head; year organized as a junior college; type of control or affiliation; AAJC membership; state recognition or accrediting agency; programs (i.e., transfer and/or occupational); co-educational or single-sex status; October 1965 enrollment of full- and part-time freshman, sophomore, and unclassified students; October 1965, summer 1966, and October 1966 total enrollments; full- and part-time instructional and administrative faculty in 1965-66; tuition for in-district, out-of-district, and out-of-state students; and fall application deadline. Statewide enrollment summaries are then provided for all institutions and public and independent colleges, followed by tables showing distribution of size of enrollment, independent and church-related schools by type of control, and accredited schools by state. Information on changes in institutions, the AAJC, junior college organizations, and state administrators is presented in the final sections. (AYC)
