This profile of two-year college education in West Virginia (WV) contains statistics on enrollments, degrees conferred, faculty characteristics, and finances for the state's three community colleges, one two-year branch campus, and one private two-year college. After listing the five colleges and providing a map of their locations, chpater 1 presents the following data for each institution: credit headcount enrollment (CHE), fall 1979 to fall 1988; full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollments, fall 1979 to fall 1988; FTE enrollment and headcount, spring 1983 to spring 1989; FTE enrollment and headcount, summer 1982 to summer 1988; regular student fees per semester for 1977 to 1988; CHE by level and residence, and by level and sex, fall 1987; FTE by student level and course taxonomy and level for summer, fall, and spring 1987-88 and for summer, fall, and spring 1988-89; and CHE by level, sex, residence, attendance status, and age distribution for fall 1988. Chapter 2 lists the programs and degrees offered; total degrees conferred from 1977 to 1988; and total degrees conferred by level of degree, control of institution, and academic area of study for 1987-88. Chapter 3 focuses on faculty characteristics, including highest degree held by full- and part-time faculty; average salaries by assignment and rank; academic rank of full-time faculty for fall 1988; age of full- and part-time faculty for fall 1988; tenure in teaching and other functions; FTE teaching faculty, salary, and average FTE salary; and a breakdown of full-time faculty for four institutions.
