This survey report provides information about research and other investigative studies in nursing in the southern region of the United States, including teaching of research and identification of resources and research support available. Contents are presented in two parts. Part 1 (seventeen pages) is a discussion of the survey, which covered educational institutions (offering programs at the associate degree, baccalaureate degree, and advanced degree levels) and federal agencies, and analysis of data. Part 2 is a listing of the research, with each listing including research title, name(s) of investigator(s), agency used, status of the study, funding, and kinds of research tools used. Questionnaires sent to the education institutions and federal agencies are appended, as well as names and addresses of institutions and agencies reporting studies. (BL)
