This publication offers statistical information on higher education in Alabama for 1992/93 on enrollment, finances, tuition, faculty salaries, and degrees conferred, and also on academic libraries. The section on enrollment contains 24 tables with information on the following topics: general characteristics; enrollment at all higher education institutions, at public institutions, at public four-year and two-year institutions, at technical colleges, at private colleges, at first professional health sciences institutions, and at institutions of veterinary medicine; full- and part-time enrollments by level and gender and by racial composition at four-year, two-year and private institutions; and full-time-equivalent enrollments at four-year, two-year, and technical colleges. The section on revenues and expenditures offers information on public four-year and two-year institutions and at technical colleges. Six tables on tuition and fees cover graduate, undergraduate, in- and out-of-state students, and students at first professional institutions and technical colleges. Three tables on average faculty salaries give a 5-year summary of full-time public four-year colleges and note gender and rank differences. Tables on degrees conferred cover four-year institutions, less than four-year institutions, baccalaureate and graduate degrees, and percentage earned by women. Information on the network of Alabama Academic Libraries lists information resources, personnel statistics, revenues and expenditures, and services and facilities. (JB)
