Four factors--faculty organization policies, levels of decisionmaking, decision-making authority, and the extent of individual bargaining--are identified and analyzed as the most important determinants of the scope of bargaining in any given school and existing collective agreements are analyzed to determine the present scope of bargaining in higher education.
