Course Sequence Length as a Determinant of Academic Major Selection

Analysis of data from a population of 7,747 upper division university students has shown that the selection of majors in various sequence length categories is disproportionate to the number of programs in each category. The proportion of transfer students selecting majors with longer sequences was significantly smaller than native students. (Author)
