Graduate School Environments: Expectations and Perceptions

Research has shown that entering freshmen and two-year college transfers enroll with unrealistically high expectations of the college environment. This study found that the phenomenon existed for entering graduate students in three university departments. Established graduate students were also found to perceive their departmental environments somewhat differently than did faculty. (Author)
