Effects of Performance Objectives on Reading Achievement in a Community College Reading Program.
Hesson, Justus Clyde
The purposes of this dissertation were to study the relationship between the use of performance objectives and the importance of reading comprehension; to ascertain the relationship between the use of performance objectives and the learning of textbook material; and to determine if, by providing training in the use of performance objectives, the student will be able to use performance objectives more effectively. Ninety-six students participated in the study. The study established that there was a significant correlation between the use of performance objectives and the following variables: basic reading skills, mastery of textbook material, and knowledge of objectives.
