Cloze Testing and the Evaluation of Writing: Some Preliminary Findings.
Tuman, Myron C.; Miles, Thomas H.
Teaching English in the Two-Year College, v14 n1 p10-17 Feb 1987

Shows that cloze testing constitutes a relatively effective placement instrument when the readers are unschooled. Includes statistical tables. (JD)
