Describes two studies on the use of captioned television in reading instruction for elementary school deaf students. Teachers' evaluated eight reading lessons taught using captioned television and reported following lesson plans most of the time, and being comfortable with the equipment, while students stayed on task, and students responded accurately to lessons.
