Statistical information on higher education in Missouri is presented with an emphasis on data most frequently requested by members of the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education, staff of colleges and universities, state government officials, and the general public. Maps showing the location of Missouri institutions are provided along with a list of institutions by designated sectors. The areas of interest outlined by use of statistical tables are: current student enrollment data (public and independent institutions); student characteristics (public institutions); enrollment trends; degrees conferred; financial statistics (public institutions); staff; and student financial aid (public and independent institutions). Information is presented first in the form of an executive summary and then in tables. The appendix provides a classification of instructional programs, which is used in all U.S. Department of Education Center for Education Statistics surveys and is the accepted government standard for education information surveys.
