Class of 1994 Graduate Follow-Up Report, Onondaga Community College.

Each year, Onondaga Community College (OCC) undertakes a follow-up survey of graduates to gather data on their experiences at OCC and identify demographic profiles in education and work-related trends. For the class of 1994, surveys were received from 568 of the 1,098 graduates receiving degrees or certificates, while findings were compared to results for the four previous classes. Study findings included the following: (1) 57.3% of the 1994 respondents were female, while 84.2% were White; (2) 75.2% of 1994 graduates were employed, with 48.7% employed full-time; (3) 54% felt that finishing their degree/certificate was important to getting their current job; (4) 58.9% indicated that their current occupation was highly related to their program of study and only 17.2% stated that it was not; (5) the number of graduates who worked while studying decreased from 40% in 1990 to 28.8% in 1994; (6) the mean annual salary increased from $20,249 in 1993 to $22,297 for 1994; (7) 43.48% of the 1994 respondents were attending a college, university, or training program; (8) 57.4% were continuing their education in a field of study highly related to their OCC degree program; and (9) 47% of the 1994 graduates continuing their education were attending a public four-year institution in New York, with 36.8% attending a private four-year institution.
