The Role of Nativism, Ethnocentrism, and Nationalism in Predicting Students' Propensity to Study International Business.
Al-Khatib, Jamal; And Others
Journal of Teaching in International Business, v8 n1 p25-43 1996
A study tested the hypothesis that nativism, ethnocentrism, and nationalism have a direct negative effect on students' choice to study international business. Subjects were 222 incoming freshman business students at 4 universities. Results indicated high levels of nativism and ethnocentrism, but not nationalism, were major inhibitors to studying international business. Implications for designing and teaching international business programs are considered. (Author/MSE)
