A survey of 1981 graduates of Mercer County Community College (MCCC) was conducted to provide information to faculty and staff and to meet the demands of external agencies. A questionnaire was mailed to 698 students who applied for graduation in June and August requesting information on characteristics, graduation plans, degree/certificate received, major, satisfaction with major program, continuing education plans, employment plans, and relationship of proposed employment or further study to MCCC major. Findings, based on a 77% response rate, include the following: (1) 84% of the respondents had plans for fall 1981 employment and 65% indicated plans for immediately continuing their education; (2) 51% of the respondents planned to pursue a combination of education and employment; (3) 88% of those planning to continue their education expected to do so in a field related to their MCCC program of study and 74% of these graduates planned to attend another New Jersey college; (4) 79% of those planning employment expected to be working in a field related to their MCCC program; (5) 65% of those planning to hold a job indicated they would be working in Mercer County; and (6) 79% of the respondents indicated satisfaction with their MCCC program.
