Materials developed by the Mathematics Teacher Education Project (MTEP) are directed chiefly toward students taking a one-year postgraduate certificate in education. MTEP units introduce mathematics to prospective teachers and act as a mathematics methods course. It is clear that the typical undergraduate mathematics course is not adequate preparation for teaching. (FG)
